Nurses who are trained from outside European Union require registration with the Nursing and midwifery council (NMC) to work as a Nurse in UK. They can be employed under the Tier 2 (General) work visa arrangements.

For sponsoring Tier 2 work visa for a Nurse the following criterion needs to be met:
REQUIREMENTS:
Medical, Surgical, ED
Minimum 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
Cleared IELTS 7 or OET B
- Academic IELTS minimum score of 7.0 in Reading, Speaking & Listening and no
less than 6.5 in Writing
OR - OET pass at Grade B in Reading, Speaking & Listening and no less than C+ in Writing

- At more senior levels such as nurse advanced, modern matron and nurse consultant (Bands 7 to 8c) salaries range from £31,696 to £69,168
For issuance of a Tier 2 work visa for a Nurse, the minimum salary requirements are as follows:
- Pre-registration candidate nurses who: have arranged to sit an Observed Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) to obtain Nursing and Midwifery Council registration (Band 3 and equivalent): £17,787. Once you have passed the OSCE and issued with a NMC, UK pin then the minimum salary has to start from Band 5 onwards.
This occupation code is currently on the United Kingdom shortage occupation list but a
resident labour market test is still required.
